Ponndorf
Hose Pumps are self-priming rotating positive displacement pumps without
any valves. Because of their good suction capacity of up to geodetic
suction heights of hs = 8 m they do not need an elevated
supply und need not be emptied. The conveying is done in an elastic hose
placed along the wall of the pump housing. A rotor is installed
centrically in this housing, either with two displacement rollers or
shoes arranged at 180° or with three of these arranged at 120°.
Pump principle: Ponndorf Hose Pumps of the Series PX and PK
During the suction process the displacement elements are pressing the air from the hose into the pressure tubing and are simultaneously sucking the liquid to be pumped into the pump. After the suction process the material is conveyed volumetrically in the hose by the displacement elements from the suction to the pressure side.

The so-called dry running pumps are hose pumps without a liquid lubrication bath, used for conveying pressures of 4 bar max.
The Wet running pumps (Ponndorf series PK) have a housing filled with a liquid lubrication bath and are used for conveying pressures up to 15 bar max.
